Casa Silva (Sustainable Wine Tourism)

Viña Casa Silva was founded in 1997, fulfilling a long-held family dream of capturing, in a bottle of wine, a family’s love and affection for their homeland, the Colchagua Valley. The first generation arrived in Chile in 1892 with Don Emilio Bouchon, coming from Bordeaux and St. Emilion, France. Since those times, the family has been dedicated to wine production, serving as pioneers in the Colchagua Valley. It wasn’t until 1997 that Mario Pablo Silva, the eldest son of the fifth generation, shared with his father, Mario Silva, the dream of producing wines under their own brand. The latter had dedicated much of his life to restoring the old vineyards and winery, acquiring a unique understanding of the Colchagua Valley’s terroir. Soon after, his sons—Francisco, Gonzalo, and Raimundo—joined the venture, contributing to the development of Viña Casa Silva. Thus began the birth of a family-owned winery and the modernization of all its operations.
