An exciting family tradition that has remained strong since the winery’s founding in 1856, along with the unique character of its wines, define this iconic Maipo Valley winery. We are proud to say that we are the only winery in Chile established in the 19th century that is still wholly owned by the founding family—a trait that has shaped our company’s identity and the personality of our wines.
At Cousiño Macul, we are convinced of the importance of preserving the traditions that have shaped our history, yet always with an innovative spirit to adapt to the industry’s evolving demands. Along this path, the introduction of lines such as Finis Terrae and Dama de Plata, and the acquisition of the Paine estate, have been some of the milestones that have marked the openness and reinvention of our production.
Today, the company is in the hands of the sixth generation of the Cousiño family, while the seventh is already working in the family business—a testament to the genuine passion for wine that unites us and ensures that with each generational transition, the winemaking tradition and quality that define us remain intact.
