Founded in 1850, Carmen is the first Chilean winery to have, among other achievements, the rediscovery of Carmenère in its vineyards—a landmark event in the world of winemaking that marked a turning point in the national and international wine industry and has established Carmen as a driving force behind the development of Carmenère in Chile.
Carmen’s team of winemakers and viticulturists has traveled throughout Chile in search of the best locations to harvest its grapes, conducting analyses of soil, climate, and temperature in each region. The result is that today, with over 160 years of experience, the winery owns vineyards in Chile’s finest wine-growing regions for each grape variety, producing premium wines that highlight and express the best of each variety according to its terroir—a commitment that has earned it countless accolades.
Today, Carmen is present in more than 50 countries, demonstrating consistent quality that reflects its commitment to seeking out the perfect conditions for producing premium wines.
